The Final Cost is an independent editorial site about buying well: the small appliances, storage, travel kit and desk equipment that people in Britain buy once and live with for years. Each article names specific, current models, explains which one suits which home, and says who should look elsewhere.
What we do
We read the manufacturers’ manuals, specification sheets and support pages, and the airline, safety and consumer-body documents that bear on a purchase, and we put the figures side by side so a decision takes minutes rather than an evening. Every number on the site is cited to its source beneath the article. Where a maker publishes two different figures, we say so and plan for the less flattering one.
What we do not do
We do not run laboratory tests and we do not pretend to. We do not quote prices, because prices on Amazon change hourly and a stale number is worse than none; the button on every product card takes you to the current listing. We do not invent awards, star ratings or reader statistics, and we do not accept payment for placement.
